SeedAudio MCP

Bring sound to your AI workflow

Connect your AI assistant to SeedAudio. Describe a sound, generate audio, and retrieve the result without leaving your conversation.

https://mcp.seedaudio.now/mcp

Hosted by SeedAudio. Sign in with your SeedAudio account in the browser. No local server or API key setup required.

Choose your AI client

Add the connection, authorize your account, then ask your assistant to use SeedAudio.

Codex

  1. With Codex CLI installed, run these commands. If adding the server already starts authorization, complete it there; the login command lets you reconnect later.

    Terminal
codex mcp add seedaudio --url https://mcp.seedaudio.now/mcp
    codex mcp login seedaudio
  2. In the browser, sign in to SeedAudio and review the access request. Approve it to connect your account, then return to Codex.

  3. Return to your AI client and enable SeedAudio's tools. Before generating audio, review the prompt and approve spending credits.

Client setup documentation

Setup guides follow each client's official documentation for remote HTTP MCP and browser authorization. Availability depends on your client version and workspace permissions. Other clients need Streamable HTTP and OAuth with automatic client registration.

From an idea to an audio file

Three tools cover generation, progress and download. Your assistant chooses the appropriate tool as you chat.

Generate audio

Turn a text description into audio using your account's available credits.

generate_audio

Check progress

Follow your task's status and credit settlement without starting another generation.

get_audio_task

Get your audio

Retrieve private download links for a completed task. Open the browser link while signed in to SeedAudio.

Example prompt
Use SeedAudio to create a quiet forest ambience with birds, a light breeze and distant water. First show me the generation prompt and explain the credit cost. Wait for my approval before generating. Then check the same task and give me its browser download link when ready.

Ask your assistant to keep the task ID and check progress at least 5 seconds apart. After a timeout, continue the original task instead of submitting another generation and spending credits again.

Your account. Your credits.

MCP uses your existing SeedAudio balance. There is no separate MCP subscription.

View plans and credits
  • API access requires a qualifying paid credit pack or subscription. Gift credits alone do not unlock it.
  • Each new generation requires 150 available credits, reserved when the task starts.
  • Final cost is 75 credits per minute, calculated by the second and rounded up: minimum 10, maximum 150 credits. Unused reserved credits are returned; failed tasks are refunded.
  • Checking a task or retrieving its download link does not charge for another generation.

Before you connect

Do I need to install a SeedAudio server?

No. SeedAudio runs the MCP server. Add the remote URL in your AI client, then authorize your account in the browser. Only your chosen AI client needs to be installed if it is a desktop or command-line app.

Can I connect with a free SeedAudio account?

You can sign in, but using the audio tools requires qualifying paid API access. A generation also needs 150 available credits. An AI client's own subscription does not include SeedAudio credits.

Why does a download link ask me to sign in?

Your audio is private. Open browser_url while signed in to the same SeedAudio account. A client fetching download_url must use its MCP authorization. The MCP server returns links; it does not save files to your computer.

How do I disconnect an AI client?

Open Manage connections and revoke that client's access. Existing audio and your balance stay in your account. If a connection expires or you sign out of its associated website session, sign in and authorize again.

What if connecting or generating fails?

Check the server URL, your client's remote MCP support, paid API eligibility and available credits. Reconnect if authorization has expired. If requests are rate limited, wait before retrying and respect Retry-After. Do not start a new generation just to check an existing task.
